As someone who plays WOW for a few hours everyday the cost of playing really adds up. For most people the cost of playing any online game is the cost of the game itself plus the subscription fee and of course the internet monthly charge. But for those of us that play obsessively there are more costs some seen yet some hidden. Some of these costs are family issues, the dreaded angry spouse mad over the amount of time played and therefore the lack of attention payed to them. The example that is being showed to younger children, sitting in front of a PC all day or all night when house hold duties are put off. Then there are the physical and health costs. Sitting in a chair for hours on end slow down the calorie burning process thus causing weight gains. There is also the circulation issues that arise from sitting for long periods of time. Physically we become lazy by allowing our selves to sit and do nothing but game. Those are just some the costs that are not thought of as we start to play but they are there. Hidden beneath those problems are those of addiction. Those that get addicted, (and they are out there), start to do things they would not do just so they can play. Such as calling off work, skipping school, not paying one bill so you can buy a game card, or maybe even hacking a friends account.
As someone who had to stop and push back from the game so that they could evaluate the toll on my life I want to warn of these dangers. Don't let this game or any game cost you your family, health, or financial standing. In the end it is only a game but your life is real.
